On Friday, April 18, in the episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, Liam feels restless. He really wants to get out of the hospital. All he can think about is Kelly’s daddy-daughter dance. He didn’t want to disappoint her, so he took matters into his own hands. You need to see what happens next.
Daddy-Daughter Dance
Today’s the big day. Kelly (Sophia Paras McKinlay) is ready for her big daddy-daughter dance. She can’t stop talking about it. Liam (Scott Clifton) can’t stop thinking about it either. He told Bridget (Ashley Jones) that he needed to get out of the hospital, but she refused to release him.
Liam insisted. He told Bridget that he was leaving the hospital. He removed the wires from his nose and arms. Then, he quickly exited the hospital. Suddenly, Liam was dressed and at Steffy’s (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) house. He was ready to pick up Kelly for the daddy-daughter dance. But there’s just one problem: the dance is already over.
Liam apologized to Kelly for missing the dance. She wanted to know where her father had been, which is understandable. But will Liam tell Kelly the truth? Or will he keep this medical emergency to himself?
Pushing His Luck?
Bridget and Grace (Cassandra Creech) were concerned about Liam’s condition. They rushed into Finn’s (Tanner Novlan) office to discuss this matter. They learned that there’s a mass on Liam’s brain that’s inoperable and terminal. Liam could be pushing his luck by leaving the hospital early. If he’s not careful, he could pass out, and it might be too late to revive him.
It’s also possible that Liam already knew he was dying. He wanted to be there for Kelly during his final moments. It was touching to see the two enjoying their time together. Liam made sure that Kelly got her daddy-daughter dance, even if it wasn’t at school. They had a makeshift dance at Steffy’s house.

Volkswagen Plans Two Hybrids for the U.S. in the Next Few Years
While Volkswagen offers hybrid powertrains in other countries, the brand has been without a gas-electric model in the United States since the departure of the Jetta Hybrid after the 2016 model year. Earlier this year, Arno Antlitz, the CFO of the Volkswagen Group, said the brand aimed to bring plug-in hybrid models to the U.S. to bridge the gap to EVs. But during a roundtable interview at the New York auto show, Kjell Gruner, president and CEO of the Volkswagen Group of America, said that the brand’s hybrid plans will take a different approach.
Volkswagen still aims to launch hybrid models in the U.S., but Gruner revealed that while VW will launch two hybrids in the next few years, they will be traditional hybrids instead of those of the plug-in variety. “We believe for this market, with the consumers here, that full hybrids are the right solution,” Gruner said. While plug-in hybrids have some advantages, “it adds a lot of weight and also a lot of material cost” and there is a significantly bigger market for traditional hybrids.
Volkswagen also wants to manufacture these hybrids in North America. “It would be much faster, obviously, to import them from Europe,” Gruner explained. “But that’s not the solution we’re going for.” Gruner all but confirmed that the two hybrids will be the Tiguan and Atlas SUVs, saying the company will “choose from our volume models.”
The Atlas is currently built in Chattanooga, Tennessee, while the Tiguan is being assembled in Puebla, Mexico. A Tiguan hybrid will likely arrive first since the brand is launching the nameplate’s third generation this year. An Atlas hybrid could be at least a couple of years out, with a next-generation Atlas due soon.
