Porsche has announced that its electric models are now capable of replenishing their batteries at Tesla Superchargers.
Owners of 2025 and 2026 Porsche EVs will be able to receive a free CCS-to-NACS adapter.
At first, drivers will need to use the Tesla app to start charging, but in the next several months, the My Porsche app will also become compatible.
Automakers rarely agree on a single solution. Each company fashions unique gear selectors, climate-control setups, and seat-position adjusters. But when it comes to charging an electric vehicle, the vast majority of the industry has settled on the NACS-style charge port, originally pioneered by Tesla and now spreading across nearly every new EV. Porsche will soon start implementing the NACS port on its latest EVs, and it has now announced that Porsche owners will be able to start accessing Tesla’s widespread Supercharger network starting on September 9.

Porsche describes it as a “soft launch,” meaning that Porsche drivers will still be required to use the Tesla smartphone application to unlock and use Tesla’s chargers. However, the German automaker promises that, in the next several months, it will also add the ability to use the My Porsche app or an even simpler “plug-and-charge” setup at Supercharger stations.

While Porsche had previously said it would start implementing the NACS charging port on its EVs in 2025, the company recently revealed that the upcoming 2026 Cayenne Electric, expected to go on sale at some point next year, will actually be the first Porsche EV to feature a NACS port. For customers driving EVs that feature the older CCS-style port, Porsche is offering a CCS-to-NACS adapter. Porsche says all new 2026 Taycan and Macan EVs will come with a Porsche NACS DC adapter at no extra cost, while owners of 2025 model year EVs will be eligible for a complimentary adapter.

Owners will be notified via the My Porsche app when reservations for a free NACS adapter open. For drivers of Taycans from the 2024 model year and earlier, the NACS adapter will be available for purchase starting today at $185.
Porsche touts this move as opening up access to an additional 23,500 chargers for Porsche EV customers. With the adapter, Porsche EV drivers will also be able to use NACS chargers at stations run by networks such as Ionna and Electrify America, which can be activated by the My Porsche app.
