Mike Tyson’s Physique Has Changed Drastically After Jake Paul Fight
Nearly two months on from his in-ring return against Jake Paul, ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson’s physical appearance looks very different now to what it did during the fight.
The 58-year-old returned to professional boxing in November to take on the YouTuber-turned-boxer, Jake Paul. It was Tyson’s first professional fight since his defeat to Irishman Kevin McBride way back in 2005. The loss to Paul meant it was the first time in the American’s career that he had lost three consecutive fights. The first of which came against Danny Williams.
Mike Tyson Failed to Perform vs Jake Paul
Iron Mike’s age was evident as he struggled to get going
Tyson was defeated pretty convincingly by the Problem Child, who is 31 years his junior. In the build-up to the fight, many videos were shared by Tyson, who publicised how seriously he was taking the fight, and this was demonstrated by his training. The veteran looked sharp in said clips, yet failed to roll back the years on the night. Although he failed to knock out his veteran opponent, the 27-year-old cruised to victory via unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.

Since the fight, Tyson has seemingly relaxed and enjoyed a well-deserved break, putting on some serious weight in the process. The boxing icon’s focus clearly isn’t on boxing anymore, as it probably shouldn’t be going off his performance in November, as he spent time with his family over the Christmas period.
Mike Tyson’s Physique Change
The 58-year-old has piled on the pounds in the aftermath
After his fight with Paul, Tyson took to X and acknowledged his health scare earlier in the year, saying: “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had 8 blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight, so I won. To have my children see me stand toe-to-toe and finish 8 rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboys stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
Paul and Tyson were scheduled to fight in July, but this was delayed due to the latter’s health scare during a flight. The boxing legend spoke to New York Magazine at the time about his scare while flying, stating: “I was in the bathroom throwing up blood. I asked the doctor, ‘Am I going to die? ‘ He said, ‘We have options.’ Options? I couldn’t believe it. I had, like, eight blood transfusions. The doctor said I lost half my blood. I almost died.”
Tyson also revealed he “lost 25 pounds in 11 days” and that he “couldn’t eat. Only liquids.”
Thankfully, the boxing legend recovered and managed to compete. Hopefully, the icon can now relax and spend more quality family time away from the ring.
