left on read Jake Paul shares direct message with Conor McGregor on Instagram demanding a fight, UFC star ignores him
UFC president Dana White may have told him there’s no chance, but that doesn’t appear to have deterred Jake Paul from chasing a fight with Conor McGregor.
The Irishman returns to the octagon to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 257 next month in his first bout for more than a year and there has been long-standing talk of him returning to boxing in 2021, too.
However, he has no plans face Paul in what would be his second outing in the boxing ring. McGregor instead has his sights set on Manny Pacquiao.
Paul’s offer of $50 million is the 2-0 fighter’s only hope of piquing McGregor’s interest and he recently called the UFC great out with an inflammatory video, which insulted his fiance and Dana White, his boss.
On top of that, Paul posted a screenshot of a direct message he sent McGregor on Instagram where he demands: “Take the fight p***y.”
The 23-year-old drew attention to the fact McGregor has seen it but has simply chosen to ignore him, though Paul will no doubt see it as a sign of weakness. In reality, it’s not worth McGregor’s time.
White believes the fight will not happen anytime soon. When asked by TMZ, he said: “McGregor is one of the greatest fighters on Earth right now.
“He shouldn’t be fighting kids that have f***ing YouTube videos.”
McGregor loves money, but he makes enough of it in UFC and beyond. He claimed to have made around $80 million for his 40-second destruction of Donald Cerrone last January and while he might look at Paul as easy work for the money, he seems to value his legacy, too.
Jake’s brother, Logan, has secured a date with Floyd Mayweather, so now the younger Paul is now doing all he can to try and get his own big-money fight in the books.
A long-standing feud with McGregor friend and UFC fighter Dillion Danis involved a drive-by milk attack this week – if you’ve ever heard of such a thing – and Paul is intent on doing what he can to get to McGregor.
With around six weeks until McGregor gets back into the octagon, he probably couldn’t have picked a worse time to try his luck.
