Ryan Garcia calls out Jake Paul, but legal drama throws a jab

After Jake Paulβs win over Mike Tyson earlier this month, fans are already buzzing about who Paul will fight next. Ryan Garcia is ready to step up.
He made his intentions clear during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show this week, doubling down on his callout of the social media star-turned-boxer.

But thereβs a catch: Garcia is currently serving a year-long suspension after testing positive for a banned substance before his April fight against Devin Haney.
His New York State boxing license is frozen until April 20, 2025. Still, that hasnβt stopped him from eyeing a high-profile return.
The road back is already looking rocky. Garcia was reportedly gearing up for an exhibition match against Rukiya Anpo in Tokyo on December 30, but Golden Boy Promotions, the company behind Garciaβs fights, isnβt on board.

On Tuesday, Golden Boy dropped a statement shutting down the Tokyo fight, claiming exclusive rights to Garciaβs bouts.
βThe organizers of this event (Garcia vs. Anpo) have acknowledged as such and have agreed in writing that our sign-off is needed for this event to occur. As no such sign-off has been given, as of today there is no event with Ryan Garcia,β the statement read
