Beterbiev regrets offering Jake Paul a fight: the reasons for his misstep

Beterbiev confesses desire for revenge against Jake Paul
Of all the list of prospects that Jake Paul has, the most unlikely seemed to be Beterbiev, who is the undisputed light heavyweight champion and is among the top five boxers today, but the Russian pugilist explained in an interview with Seconds Out the reason why he challenged the YouTuber.
“In boxing, for a long time I have had my favorite boxers and they are Muhammad Ali and Mike Tyson, and Jake Paul beat Mike Tyson and my first reaction was to want revenge,” Beterbiev acknowledged in the chat with Seconds Out, but he said that after a couple of days he regretted challenging him, although “if he wants to then yes, but I do not think he wants to fight me … I think I would show him boxing.”
Jake Paul did not respond immediately, until after a while he realized the challenge and took the luxury of bragging because in just four years in boxing he already runs the sport: “I just saw this… top five pound-for-pound fighter in the world calling me out,” tweeted The Problem Child, while Beterbiev replied that precisely after four years it was time to face a serious challenge.
“I didn’t notice your acceptance or rejection. So what are we going to do?” replied Beterbiev, about a fight that seems impossible at least in the short term, because for now there is the rematch against Dmitry Bivol, while Jake Paul could choose Julio Cesar Chavez Jr., who would also have a lot of expectation to face the son of a boxing legend, while waiting for Canelo Alvarez to be close to retirement, to accept to get into the ring with him.
