Canelo Alvarez Sums Up Terence Crawford’s Last Performance Against Madrimov In Just 2 Words
Canelo Alvarez was a keen observer for Terence Crawford‘s last fight.
‘Bud’ fought back in August when he stepped up to 154lbs for the first time to challenge Israil Madrimov for his WBA super-welterweight title.
It was a tightly-fought contest, with Crawford pushed harder than he may have been in his entire career, but in the end he was able to get a narrow unanimous decision verdict to win the belt and become a four-weight world champion in the process.
A fight between Canelo and Crawford could happen next, with ‘Bud’ insisting he is more than willing to move up a further two weight divisions for the bout at 168lbs.

Canelo watched the fight between Crawford and Madrimov but was seemingly not impressed with his rival’s performance, as he needed just two words to sum up his thoughts whilst speaking to Fighthype.
“He lost.”
Canelo then explained what he thinks Crawford will have learnt in the clash against Madrimov.
“I think he knows why there’s weight classes there, right? He make a good fight, but for me I think he lost the fight. Or draw. It could have been the other side.”
Time will tell whether a fight between Canelo and Crawford does indeed happen next, with updates expected soon on if negotiations have been successful.
Canelo was last in action in September when he defeated Edgar Berlanga to retain his unified super-middleweight titles, but another option has now presented itself which could allow the Mexican superstar to once again become undisputed at 168lbs.
