Sheikh Turki Alalshikh hopes for ‘white smoke’ this year for Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford
Everything seems to indicate that there are actions that make this possibility walk
Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez vs Terence Crawford is one of the most anticipated fights for 2025 and could take place thanks to the efforts being made by Turki Alalshikh, who in recent days was with the American fighter.
A few days ago, the sheikh was also with Canelo Alvarez during the gala of the prestigious boxing magazine, The Ring Magazine and according to reports, the talk left open the possibility that the fight could finally take place.
Turki Alalshikh assures there will be white smoke
The Sheikh was the one who gave clues about this possible function after leaving the The Ring Magazine gala: “The Ring is the bible of boxing and we are close to seeing white smoke on the horizon,” he said, while anticipating what we will have this year: “2025 will be a crazy year and I mean it”
More than once, the reason for Canelo’s refusal to get into the ring with Crawford was questioned and the main reason was that there was a big difference in the categories as the Nebraska-born fighter had to move up two categories in order for the fight to take place.
However, Turki Alalshikh, who in recent times has become a kind of right-hand man to the president of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, managed to have talks with both fighters with the aim that this year a great event can finally be put together with Alvarez and Crawford in the main fight.

Nobody from Canelo Alvarez’s camp confirmed that the conversation between the sheikh and the Mexican fighter was about the fight against Crawford, but they did say that they were together at the magazine’s gala.
Canelo vs Crawford: What would the earnings be?
Thank you for watching
Another reason why Saul Alvarez had not agreed to fight Crawford is because he made it a condition that there would be a purse of $150 million, and the intention is to take this hypothetical fight to Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, with a tentative date for the month of September.
Tokyo 2020 silver medallist Keyshawn Davis is determined that Gervonta Davis will look at him and dare to respond to his challenge to put his WBA and WBO titles on the line. This would be a normal affair, one of those that happen every day, were it not for the fact that Keyshawn knows ‘Tank’ inside out, as he trained him not long ago and claims to know him so well that he knows what his weaknesses are, which he plans to exploit.
Keyshawn has long put his finger on the pulse and with his statements has made it clear that Gervonta is on his radar, as he did last November after knocking out Gustavo Lemos: “What kind of resume does he have? He doesn’t have a fucking resume, man,” he said to get along with ‘Tank’, who is the one he really wants.
The 25-year-old now has a commitment to face the WBO champion, Denys Berinchyk, but Gervonta is in his head, and his rival on February 14 is just an obstacle he plans to shake off to ask for an ‘audience’ with ‘Tank’ again.
Keyshawn Davis knows ‘Tank’ perfectly
Keyshawn was recently on All the Smoke Fight where he was asked: “In your fight, you called out Tank. What makes you so confident that you can solve that puzzle?”, to which he confidently replied: “I’ve already been in the ring with Tank twice, training himβ¦ As he’s the best, I’m challenging him because I know I can kick his ass.”
Gervonta Davis would be the first truly elite opponent Keyshawn would face if their fight were to come to fruition, although no one can deny that he is a rising star, something he wants to make clear in the ring at New York’s Madison Square Garden, especially for ‘Tank’, who by the way has not said a word, neither for better nor for worse, perhaps because he no longer wants to know anything in this, his farewell year from boxing, as he has repeated on several occasions.
