Conor McGregor Clowns Jake Paul With Scathing Response to MMA Challenge
Jake Paul may have thought he would receive more or less unfettered praise for handling former heavyweight champion of the world Mike Tyson in front of 60 million viewers on Friday night, Nov. 15, but that has not been the case over the past few days.
Instead, Paul has been the butt of several internet memes and jokes from prominent celebrities and athletes for his decision to fight a 58-year-old boxer in Tyson who nearly died due to a murky health scare in June that involved eight blood transfusions.

Among the prominent members of the fight community making digs at the 27-year-old YouTube star was Conor McGregor, who responded with a joke at Paul’s expense following a challenge from Paul for McGregor to meet him in the octagon.
“Dear Conor, I know you told my team you would fight me at 170 lbs. That’s never happening,” Paul sent in an online message to McGregor on Saturday. “But let’s run it in MMA. Just like how it used to be done. But you won’t.”
McGregor responded shortly thereafter via an X post that has since been deleted.
“Nakisa already rang me lad, it’s this guy next for you,” McGregor responded with a picture of U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, who is 82 years old. “Good luck pal.”

McGregor already made one prominent foray into the boxing world when he fought Floyd Mayweather, a former champion across multiple weight divisions, back in 2017. Mayweather bested McGregor by TKO in the 10th round of that bout.
Mayweather earned $100 million for that fight, while McGregor earned $30 million. Paul is said to have earned between $40-$45 million for his fight against Tyson on Friday night, while Tyson pocketed around $20 million from the event.
