Jake Paul’s proposed fight with Conor McGregor will have a shock twist that no one sees coming
After he overcame Mike Tyson in November, Jake Paul is filled with confidence and is letting it be known that he is ready to face anyone and everyone as he continues his hike to the summit of the boxing mountain. But some are concerned that Paul might be biting off more than he can chew as he pursues greatness in the ring.
As he has sought to capitalize on his eight-round victory over Tyson at AT&T Stadium on Nov. 15, Paul has ruffled feathers by teasing potential bouts with Mexican superstar Canelo Alvarez and mixed martial arts icon Conor McGregor. The Pauls — meaning Jake and his brother Logan — have been embroiled in a social media dispute with McGregor for years, and McGregor has said he will fight Logan in an exhibition match in India later this year. However, Jake has disputed the existence of this fight as confusion grows over what each party is looking for.

Though Jake Paul taking on Conor McGregor remains a theoretical fight for fans to play with, a new simulation published on YouTube could prove cautionary if the bout ever were to take place.
In the simulation, which comes courtesy of the EA Sports video game UFC 5, Paul knocks down and defeats McGregor in the second round of their fight — which takes place in the cage as opposed to the boxing ring. That may be the obvious caveat, but Paul has defeated UFC/MMA fighters before — including former UFC champion Tyron Woodley back in 2021, as well as bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry in July 2024.

Despite the simulation’s prediction, Paul has more to lose by opting to fight McGregor than McGregor has to lose by fighting Paul. Though McGregor is one of the most feared mixed martial artists of his generation, he lost significant goodwill and numerous sponsorship deals following a November 2024 conviction in Ireland’s High Court on assault and rape charges that stemmed from 2018. From that vantage point, it makes sense why McGregor is eager to fight a Paul, any Paul, while Jake and Logan press ahead on other objectives.
