KSI taunts Jake Paul over last-second Canelo Alvarez fight cancellation
The influencer boxing scene is slowly taking over.
Jake Paul was reportedly in talks with Team Canelo about organizing a potential super fight. However, Turki Alalshikh revealed a four-fight deal for Canelo with Riyadh Season, which could lay all talks of him fighting Paul to rest.
Fan sentiment was at an all-time low following Paul-Tyson since Paul took a near-60-year-old Tyson to the final bell in a lackluster fight. The only allure now for another Paul success is for him to take on a legitimate challenge. This could culminate in a Canelo fight, but with Alalshikh’s announcement, Paul is subject to scrutiny from his peers.
KSI rips Jake Paul over Canelo fight dispute
KSI, one of the catalysts of the influencer boxing scene, was keen to roast Paul for what seems like a botched opportunity. The British influencer was mocked for calling out Wayne Bridge, a retired footballer, at a Misfits Boxing event in January. KSI has since announced a fight with Dillon Danis.
Taking to Instagram, KSI shared two stories, remarking, “Now what buddy?” and telling Paul to “Keep running from me bro.”
Has KSI fought Jake Paul before
KSI has not fought Jake Paul, but he had a two-fight stint with Paul’s brother, Logan. KSI and Logan went to a controversial draw in 2018 before KSI won a just as controversial split decision in the rematch in 2019.
Logan has since found a home in the WWE and enjoys plenty of success as a business partner with KSI on their drink brand PRIME, a sponsor of the UFC. Since their fights, KSI has fought six more times, winning five, with the Paul fight being shelved every time.
KSI vs. Paul is quickly becoming the Riddick Bowe vs. Lennox Lewis or Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury of the influencer boxing scene, as strange as that sounds.
