Mike Tyson offered $700M to beat Jake Paul in rematch
A member of the Saudi Royal has reportedly offered boxing legend Mike Tyson US$700 million to defeat Jake Paul in a rematch, following their highly anticipated and controversial fight last month.
The original bout, which was live-streamed on Netflix to millions of viewers worldwide on Nov. 15, ended with a victory for Paul. However, the match was criticized by some fans and pundits for lacking intensity, with claims that it may have been staged.
Now, Tyson may have an opportunity to redeem himself in a rematch, following a lucrative offer from Turki Alalshikh, head of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority.
According to FTTV Boxing, Alalshikh has offered Tyson $700 million if he can defeat Paul by knockout if a rematch happens.
Alalshikh was quoted saying: “Jake Paul is a joke. I am giving Mike Tyson $700 million if he agrees to fight Jake Paul this time in a real fight and wins by KO in a maximum of three minutes.”
Rumors of the offer first surfaced last month when congressional candidate Jack Lombardi II shared the details on social media, specifically on X, about the $700 million in prize money and the three-minute knockout requirement.
While Tyson, 58, holds a legendary place in boxing history, the 31-year age gap between him and Paul raises questions about the possibility of such a quick knockout. The original fight received mixed reviews, with many questioning whether it lived up to the hype, Indy 100 reported.
Actor Sylvester Stallone further fueled speculation around the match, suggesting that Paul’s win might have been the result of Tyson delivering “one of the great Oscar-winning performances of all time.”
“Please, Jake, be grateful, HE SPARED YOUR LIFE! Trust me…” Stallone said.
