‘KingRy’ claimed Haney will only get respect if he fights him again
As if the drama between Ryan Garcia and Devin Haney were not enough, now legal components are added that, regardless of what they determine for both, are obstacles to an eventual rematch that some claim will take place in the first part of 2025, as the Victorville native serves out the one-year punishment imposed by the New York Boxing Commission.

During the recent Ring magazine boxing awards in London, they spoke again, and while Haney did not clarify his lawsuit against Garcia when asked by IFL TV, while only acknowledging his desire to get back in the ring with him, ‘KingRy’ looked quite erratic, as on the one hand he claims he wants to settle his differences with Haney in the ring, but on the other he is not even able to look him in the eye, and determines that the fight will not happen if Haney does not withdraw the lawsuit he has filed against him.
He told Seconds Out: “The only way he’s going to get any respect is to fight me again and try to do better. I would be willing to do a rematch, but a lot of things need to happen the way I need them to happen. Haney needs to drop the lawsuit,” Ryan said with total conviction.
