Gervonta Davis, Terence Crawford Get In A Verbal Brawl About Their Bank Accounts
Gervonta “Tank” Davis and Terence “Bud” Crawford got into an all-out verbal brawl on social media, as the boxing champions traded jabs regarding their respective bank accounts and resumes.
The drama between Davis and Crawford began when Crawford seemingly reacted to Davis expressing his ire over not receiving an invitation to The Ring Awards, an event celebrating the best moments in boxing over the past year, on social media.
“I see somebody mad they wasn’t invited to the @ringmagazinegala,” Crawford wrote in a post on X, adding a laughing emoji to add insult to injury.

While Crawford noted that he wasn’t invited to The Ring Awards himself, Davis clearly took offense to the former undisputed champ’s humor, claiming that he brings in more money than Crawford does. “And I still make more than you,” the Baltimore, Md native wrote in a post of his own.
Davis also challenged pundits and fans’ belief that Crawford is attempting to make history by challenging multi-division champ Canelo Alvarez to a bout, a fight expected to yield Bud the biggest payday of his career.
“Yalll think he chasing greatness. He’s not, that’s what he have to do to make decent money..f**k boys,” the lightweight champion said of Crawford.
Firing back, Crawford deemed Davis downplaying his wealth as “dumb,” being that both are multimillionaires and live comfortable lifestyles. He also inferred that Davis’ finances could potentially dwindle with time, while his will continue to grow, as he’s invested his money wisely.
“First thing a dumb rich person say to another rich person is I got more money than you! I bet you I own more investments than you and I don’t owe a dollar in taxes,” he wrote. “You can’t buy nothing I can’t buy that I want, and that’s a fact. Let’s see who money last the longest smart guy.”
Tank refuted the notion that Crawford’s money is in the same ballpark as his own, simultaneously showing signs of disrespect toward the Nebraska native. “On my momma you don’t bih a boy,” he wrote in response to Crawford, lashing out at the Super Welterweight champion in a series of posts downplaying his status in comparison to his.
“And this what happen when a nia never had sh*t..they start talking crazy,” Davis added. “NIA IF YOU DIDNT KNOW THEY WAS CALLING ME BEFORE YA BIH A AND STILL CALLING AND YOU STILL IN THE SAME POSITION DK EATER! You still gotta do as you told PUY.”
Undeterred, Bud clapped back, declaring that his average pay for a fight is higher than Davis’, aside from the diminutive knockout specialist’s 2023 megabout with Ryan Garcia.
“By the way little guy, don’t speak too son because you definitely not making more than me fight who’s been fighting,” he wrote. “That’s why you talking about fighting Ryan again.”
Mike Coppinger, an ESPN boxing reporter, seconded Crawford’s claim, as he revealed that Crawford made more money for his bouts against Israil Madrimov and Errol Spence than Davis has in three of his four last fights.
“Outside of the Ryan Garcia fight, Terence Crawford has earned multiples more than Gervonta Davis for his bouts with Madrimov and Spence compared to Tank’s bouts with Frank Martin, Hector Luis Garcia, and the upcoming bout with Roach,” Coppinger wrote, adding more validity to Crawford’s boast.
However, neither Crawford or Coppinger claimed or confirmed that Bud’s net-worth is higher than Tank’s.
