Daniel Dubois Brutal 12-word Message to Tyson Fury After Oleksandr Usyk Rematch Defeat
World heavyweight boxing titleholder Daniel Dubois left a brutal, 12-word message for his Queensberry Promotions stablemate Tyson Fury, as he advised the twice-conquered fighter to call it a day after he suffered back-to-back defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in two of boxing’s biggest and most significant bouts of 2024.
Usyk first beat Fury by split decision at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, in May, before scoring a unanimous decision win in the rematch on Saturday, the 21st of December. The two wins mean Fury is unlikely to get a third crack at Usyk, and would instead have to fight an opponent ranked lower in the world leaderboard. Whether he has the appetite or will to do that remains to be seen.
It’s Time For Tyson Fury to Retire Forever
That’s according to Daniel Dubois, who is hoping to unify his title with Usyk’s three belts
Dubois, speaking to Seconds Out, delivered his message for Fury:
“Fury has had a great career. I think it’s time for him to call it a day now.”

A 37-fight boxing veteran, Fury began his pro career in 2008 and shook up the entire sport when he became the first person to end Wladimir Klitschko’s lengthy reign atop the heavyweight division when, in 2015, he bamboozled the dominant Ukrainian over 12 rounds in Dusseldorf, Germany.
His other, most notable bouts, include the Deontay Wilder trilogy, the crossover fight with Francis Ngannou, and the two-bout rivalry with Usyk.
Fury’s career in boxing has secured him hundreds of millions of dollars but now he has lost the titles, and is unlikely to win them back any time soon, Dubois believes he should hang his gloves up.
It’s unclear if that is something Fury will commit to, as he has shown, in previous years, a desire to stay in boxing as it seemingly helps maintain a more positive mental health balance than if he were to not have the routine and structure that a training camp, and fight date, provides.

Should he stay in the sport, then he’d likely command significant, non-title fights against the likes of Ngannou in a rematch, as well as the big, all-British fight against Anthony Joshua.
As for Dubois, the 6-foot-5 banger takes on Joseph Parker in Riyadh on the 22nd of February and has made it clear that, should he win, he’d target a rematch with Usyk immediately afterwards.
Though Dubois lost to Usyk by ninth-round knockout in 2023, the Brit did manage to drop Usyk during the fight in a knockdown that was not officially counted as the referee adjudged it to have been a low blow. This, combined with Dubois’ resurgence in which he’s finished Filip Hrgovic, as well as Joshua, ensure he remains at the top of the list to fight Usyk in 2025.
