Joe Rogan makes brutal five-word assessment of Tyson Fury before Oleksandr Usyk rematch
Fans have been discussing Fury’s chances ahead of the blockbuster sequel with Usyk, with UFC commentator Joe Rogan now weighing in and sharing his thoughts on the upcoming dust-up
UFC commentator Joe Rogan fears for two-time heavyweight champion Tyson Fury ahead of his blockbuster rematch with Oleksandr Usyk later this month.
‘The Gypsy King’ will be desperate to avenge his defeat to the Ukrainian after Usyk handed the Brit the first loss of his professional career back in May following a split-decision victory in Riyadh. The two heavyweight stars will once again go toe-to-toe on December 21.
While Fury is in the final stages of his training camp and is no doubt itching to avenge his defeat, Rogan – a popular UFC commentator – has weighed in on the upcoming mouthwatering dust-up. The 57-year-old believes the British heavyweight sensation is ‘not all there anymore’.

With just over a week to go until the pair face-off again, it appears as if Fury is going to make a significant change in his approach. According to talkSPORT boxing pundit Gareth A Davies, ‘The Gypsy King’ is aiming to come in around the 19 stone 7lbs mark (273lbs) – which is almost a stone heavier than he was for their first fight (18 st 10lbs/262lbs).
“When Tyson beat Klitschko nine years ago he was a 27-year-old, very light on his feet, he bamboozled opponents with those telescopic arms, his movement and tying fighters up,” said Davies. “That version went away in the three fights with Deontay Wilder, certainly the second and third fights where he became a bigger hitter at 19 and a half stone. I’m told internally from his camp that is where they intend him to be for Usyk in this fight, 19 and a half stone.”
‘The Gypsy King’ recently revealed that he will be looking to knock out his heavyweight rival in a bid to avoid suffering back-to-back defeats for the first time in his professional career. βIβm going to go in there with destroy mode,β Fury said in an interview with Undisputed. βLast time I went to box him, I was being cautiousβ¦ Anybody can get caught as we have seen in a lot of these heavyweight fights.
“But this time Iβm not going for a points decision. Iβm going to knock that motherf***er out. For the first time in years, Iβm going in there as a challenger, not a champion,β Fury explained. βAnd I believe that Iβm better as a challenger, always, because Iβve got that goal of achieving something and itβs giving me a fire underneath.β
