Bold and the Beautiful Star Thorsten Kaye Says Ridge ‘Had It Coming’ When Brooke Told Him Off
B&B star Thorsten Kaye applauded Brooke standing up to Ridge.
Thorsten Kaye has been playing Ridge for 11 years on The Bold and the Beautiful. His character has caused much heartache waffling between Brooke and Taylor. But when his Logan recently told him off, it was a long overdue moment.
No Defending Ridge
Ridge and Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) have hit another obstacle in their relationship. After Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) and Hope (Annika Noelle) took over Forrester Creations, Ridge was furious. He made derogatory remarks about Hope, which Brooke didn’t like. Then when Ridge forced Brooke to choose between him and Hope, she refused to pick.
Things worsened when Brooke accepted Carter’s offer to be FC’s new CEO. When a heartbroken Ridge heard the news, he immediately jumped into bed with his ex-wife Taylor (Rebecca Budig). Brooke was upset when Ridge slept with Taylor but was determined to win him back.
During a conversation with Ridge, Brooke revealed she took the CEO position to help get FC back. But her pleas for a reunion with Ridge fell on deaf ears. The couple argued, and a fed-up Brooke finally told Ridge off. She called him out for waffling between her and Taylor, then Brooke declared she deserved better before storming out.
Brooke’s rant against Ridge was applauded by fans and by Kaye. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, the actor agreed that Ridge “had it coming” for a while.
“Oh, yeah. The writing was on the wall! Listen, there’s no way to defend this man who can’t make up his mind about what woman he wants to be with and thinks that they all need to be with him,” Kaye explained. “But you’ve still got to find a human way to play it. But in any story, you can pick a character out and go, ‘Well, he has this flaw, and he has that flaw.’ Good! You want to have flaws and try to work through them.”
Although Brooke seemed to be done with Ridge after telling him off, she’s still pining for her destiny. But will Ridge reunite with her or stay with Taylor?
